so we went to six flags and competed  in the SHARP state championships. we won first [agen] and got three trophies and three spirit sticks . so we got the FIRST PLACE, MOST SPIRITED, AND HIGHEST SCORE . so we were grand champions !! whoo whoo .

next competition is held at anehiem convention center [the big one] on saturday april 16 . its NATIONALS and this is gonnah be the toughest competition kux we have someone from hawaii to go against. hawaiins=strong . to mention they  onlie have four guys and four girls, and they'd travel this far for a competition, they must be pretty gud . well, we'll see wuht happens . . .

      For the second conservative year, Santiago High took top honors at the annual Garden Grove Unifeied School Districe Cheer Championships held Sunday at the Cavalier gymnasium.
      The event, attended by all GGUSD high schools with the exception of Rancho Alamitos, featured competition in the categories of large cheer, small cheer, dance and most-spirited, as well as a cheer grand champion.
      Santiago placed first place in large cheer with 456 points, followed by Pacifica (437), Los Amigos (324) and Bolsa Grande (324).
      In small cheer, Pacifica was first with 406 points, followed by Santiago (343), Garden Grove (333) and La Quinta (322).
      Top honors in dance went to the La Quinta junior varsity team (405), followed by La Quinta varsity (427), Santiago (419), Los Amigos (362), Garden Grove (351) and Bolsa Grande (278).
      Most spirited honors went to SHS, and the overall grand champion title also went to the Cavaliers for their top score.
      The cavs are coached by Erin Ponchak. Amanda Morris is the advisor. Rocky Gray is the athletic director.
      Judging was done by cheer advisors, who were not allowed to vote for their own team.
